Face lift (rhytidectomy)
It is a surgical procedure aimed at rejuvenating the face and the neck. It is done to improve sagging facial skin, jowls and loose neck skin by removing excess fat, tightening muscles and redraping the skin. The surgery is done under local anesthesia with sedation. Recent advances in surgical techniques have led to significantly improved and long-lasting results. A face lift will give your face a fresher look and some patients can appear 10-15 years younger after the surgery.
It must also be noted that a face lift cannot remove all facial wrinkles. These are lines which, over the years, have appeared due to the constant action of facial muscles. It is normal that lines of facial expression remain after surgery. Injecting Botox can help to smooth them out. A face lift is often combined with a forehead lift or eyelid surgery.
Forehead lift
This rejuvenating surgical procedure is aimed at restoring a more youghful appearance to the brow and forehead. Patients asking for a forehead lift usually have sagging brows and deep horizontal wrinkles in their forehead.
The brow lift is designed to restore a more youthful position of the brow giving it a beautiful arched look. Removal of excess skin and the tightening or partial removal of the selected facial muscles responsible for the drop in brow position are done during the procedure.
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) The eyes are the focal point of the face and contribute substantially to one's overall facial appearance. Blepharoplasty is the surgical procedure which corrects dropping upper eyelids and puffy bags under the eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle. Because eyelid skin is thin, you should expect some swelling and bruising after surgery. Within 6 weeks, the thin surgical scars should be barely visible and blend into your eyes natural folds.
Nose reshaping (rhinoplasty)
It is a procedure to reshape the nose by reducing or increasing the size, removing lumps, changing the shape of the bridge, narrowing the span of nostrils or changing the angle between the nose and the upper lip. Any modification of the structure of the nose is done after taking into account the shape of your face, your age, your ethnic identity, the structure of your nasal bones and cartilage, as well as the thickness of the skin. The skin is a very important element of your nose. A thick skin may require secondary rhinoplasty (correction). The purpose of the surgery is to make you look better not different.
Dermabrasion Dermabrasion mechanically removes the most superficial layers of the skin and allows your skin normal healing properties to rejuvenate itself.
It is designed to reduce or remove moderate wrinkles, fine lines, skin blemishes and uneven skin surfaces. This technique has also been used to treat acne or traumatic scars.
Otoplasty It is a cosmetic surgery to change the appearance of a person's external ears. Otoplasty can take many forms, such as bringing the ears closer to the head ( ear pinning), reducing the size of big ears, or reshaping the cartilage.
It is done under local aenesthesia alone or with sedation as an outpatient surgery. Patients wear a head dressing for one week. Thereafter, most patients wear a head band during sleep for 2-4 weeks.
Chin or Cheek augmentation Chin augmentation can strengthen the appearance of a receding chin by increasing its projection. It can create better harmony between the chin and other facial features for a more balanced profile.
The cheekbones may also be built up by placing an implant over them. This is usually performed through an incision within the mouth.
Body
Breast augmentation Augmentation mammoplasty is typically performed to enlarge small breasts, underdeveloped breasts or breasts that have decreased after chidbirth. It is accomplished by surgically inserting an implant (silicone shells) filled with either saline water or silicone gel (cohesive). They are placed underneath either breast tissue or the chest wall muscle. This procedure may be combined with breast lift for more satisfying results.
Breast lift (mastopexy) Mastopexy is done for aesthetic reasons on breasts that have sagged as a result of weight loss, pregnancy or loss of the skin's natural elasticity. It is to raise and reshape sagging breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning remaining tissue and nipples.
Breast reduction The reduction is aimed at remodelling the breasts by removing a suitable segment of a large breast and reshaping it. The size of the areola is frequently reduced as well. Closure is usually in the form of an inverted "T" with a circular line of closure around the areola also. Reductions are carried to relieve back, shoulder and neck pain, skin irritation and problems with clothing. They may also make sports more enjoyable. In breast reduction as well as in mastopexy, the main side effect may be permanent scars.
Male breast reduction Enlarged male breasts is a condition that affect a lot of men. Gynecomastia can be corrected with a breast reduction surgery (removing of excess fat and/or gland tissue from the breasts by liposuction with or without surgery.)
Liposuction This is a surgical technique employed to remove unwanted fat deposits from different areas of the body by suctioning them away. By aspirating the fat cells after melting them with ultrasounds, liposuction appears to be capable of preventing recurrence of the fat deposits.
The canulas and the equipment used are more and more sophisticated, while the technique itself has also evolved and minimizes immediate risks and discomfort during convalescence.
The areas that may be improved by this procedure are the neck, axillae, male chest, hips, thighs, buttocks ,abdomen, knees and ankles.
Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) Abdominoplasty will flatten and shape the abdomen and waist. This is a procedure in which excessive skin and fat are removed from the middle or the lower part of the abdomen. Distended skin is removed, the abdominal musculature reinforced and the lower abdomen rejuvenated. The appearance and profile of the lower abdomen may be improved by removing skin folds, scarring and stretch marks.
Multiple pregnancies and marked fluctuations in weight are most frequently responsible as they stretch the abdominal wall tissues. Recovery time is about 3-4 weeks. Abdominoplasty will leave a permanent scar between the hips. That scar should be low enough that a bikini could conceal it.
Arm lift (brachioplasty) The skin on the upper arms may begin to sag with age or after weight loss. Brachioplasty reduces the excessive tissue on the upper arms. Liposuction may also be used to contour the arms in a desirable manner.
Thigh lift It is a surgical procedure that improves the contour of the thigh and buttocks by lifting and tightening loose skin in the area. This procedure may be recommended to patients who have excess, loose and sagging skin in the thighs due to a large amount of weight loss or previous liposuction procedures. A thigh lift is performed as an outpatient procedure and usually under general aenesthesia.
Botox Repeated muscular contractions such as frowning and squinting form wrinkles. Botox works by relaxing muscles and giving the face a more refreshed appearance. The procedure is simple and takes only minutes to perform. The most common areas treated are frown lines, crows feet, forehead lines and glabella. Botox is an injectable treatment derived from a purified protein. Botox may also be useful in treating migraine headaches.
Fillers Facial fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane or Radiesse are injected under the skin to contour, smooth wrinkles or give some fullness to the lips or cheeks for a younger appearance. After a consultation, we will recommend the proper injectable.
